Apparently they just abandoned the plot of Halo 5? So throughout this campaign, you just find things out after the fact, rather than feeling like the story is happening to you. Open world sounded cool but, once you finish the campaign, it’s just boring. You can’t go back and replay missions so all there is left to do is try to find the discoverables.Multiplayer is a complete disappointment. After a few months, it’s very clear this was a Halo game made for people who didn’t like Halo. The consensus among players seems to be those who hadn’t played Halo CE-3 when they were current like Infinite while those who did play the first three installments don’t like it. It doesn’t FEEL like Halo. Rather than renovating the house, they tore it down and built an entirely new house, then put up a facade so it looks the same from the outside.Server issues, mediocre weapons, strange design choices no one seems to have an answer for, things that simply don’t work, lack of content at launch (even though it took longer than any other installment), charging us for things we’ve had included in the base price for over a decade, no pre- and post game lobbies, overly-complex controller settings (seems like it was just designed for PC gamers), takes like 60 seconds to mute an obnoxious player during a game (how many times you gonna die during that?), clunky physics, a challenge-based multiplayer ranking system means you’re matched up with people completely outside your skill level, etc., etc., etc.You know, I played over 20,000 matches of Halo 2 over the course of four years when I was a kid. Not to complete a rotating series of challenges but because the gameplay was simply fun. I can’t play more than 5-10 matches of Infinite at a time without getting bored or frustrated. After four months of giving it a shot, I think I’m tapped out. It just isn’t fun.

Halo Infinite is a pretty good game and also a game of the year contender. I enjoy the gameplay and would recommend getting this game.

In the end, it’s hard not to love Halo Infinite, which is easily the most complete game in a franchise that’s long set the bar for gaming. There’s just nothing like playing through an adventure as the Master Chief.

This should be a little more explained, you are told that UNSC forces have been hunted but then you have infinite marines out of nowhere. And there are still lots of questions of the blue team, Osiris and the spirit of fire. Then, in the mission of entering a tower after gathering data of three bases, you have to forcibly complete the campaign doing 3 missions in a row with no way to stop and keep exploring the ring. You are forced to complete the campaign. I would have liked to complete that mission and then do a little exploration, but no. This little flaws make the game not as much perfect as I wanted, but the gameplay is the most fun of any halo. It’s a great game, but I’m hoping some free campaign DLC’s

Like Master Chief himself, Infinite lets its combat do the talking while looking towards a bright future. After that initial showing, we couldn’t ask for more.

Halo Infinite feels as immediately compelling and necessary as Bungie’s original games, and is a shining beacon in a year that has felt quite underwhelming in the AAA space. Intense combat and a keen sense of creativity make this a must-play, even if you’re not typically a fan of the genre or even Mr Mean and Green himself.

Playable on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud Streaming and even via Game Pass, there’s virtually no borders to prevent you from playing Halo Infinite and experiencing this evolution of the series. I absolutely enjoyed my time stepping back into Chief’s shoes, and I wasn’t sure how connected or how much I would care about new characters, The Pilot and The Weapon, but by the time the credits rolled, I really quite enjoyed The Weapon, making for a fine replacement for Cortana in her own right. As a Halo campaign, this is easily my favorite since Reach and right up there with the best of the series. Get your favorite weapon and finish the fight, Chief.

The gameplay is more satisfying than ever, the new semi-open world format works like a charm, and yet Halo Infinite fails to make its campaign the unforgettable moment we were expecting. The obvious lack of ambition in the storyline, which feels like a prologue, and too many repetitions of locations and objectives in its final third, prevent 343 Industries from reaching the firmament. However, it remains a particularly solid FPS, which should keep you busy for a good fifteen hours of fun and to which you will certainly return with pleasure once the co-op mode is available.

The longevity of Halo Infinite will rest with its multiplayer battles as this is the online shooter the world has been needing. Halo Infinite is the defining project from 343 Industries thus far.

Halo Infinite is inevitably going to see a ton of play thanks to its day one inclusion on Game Pass and the campaign is well-positioned to impress. There are plenty of mechanical, enemy, weapon, and story throwbacks for longtime fans to smirk at and the game is approachable, exciting, and endearing enough to potentially win over a whole new generation of Halo fans.

Halo Infinite is a successful Microsoft experiment. You will not experience a gram of revolution here - it's just a safe evolution with respect to the source material, but all in all: why change something that works? The open world is rather an addition for those who are interested - it does not spoil what has always been the best in Halo, i.e. the epic story and dynamic action. Even the graphics that would not knock you down and on PS4, not to mention the new generation, screams straight: Infinite is an old school game. And in fact, it is such a gate that takes us back into the ancient times - which can be seen as both an advantage and a disadvantage.

Halo Infinite offers the full Master Chief experience in a big, beautiful sandbox. While 343 may not be breaking new ground with the light open-world elements it has added, it has done a great job of creating a solid experience for new and returning players alike.

Taking both single and multiplayer as a whole, Halo Infinite marks a return to form for a franchise that is in desperate need of one. Its open-world may feel a tad formulaic, but it also houses plenty of emergent gameplay opportunities while continuing to offer huge set-pieces…Multiplayer battle pass progression aside, playing with friends in Halo Infinite feels closer to the glory days of Halo 3 than ever. If you'd been concerned based on prior showings, you can put those concerns to rest – Halo is back, and it might just be better than ever.

It's plausible Halo Infinite will eventually become an era-defining game, one that reestablishes it as a dominant shooter franchise, but it's not there yet and there's no telling when it will be.

The main campaign of Halo Infinite has a bunch of problems: the AI that manages the friendly marines is underwhelming and the level design of the missions is sometimes repetitive. But as soon as you start firing, the game is simply perfect and this is what counts in a first person shooter.
