Somehow Techland managed to downgrade the game, by releasing a product thats obviously unfinished, with bugs and glitches making the game unplayable, either its all characters and textures becoming grey, the infamous audio bug, dialogue skipping itself, I literally didn't experience one normal cutscene in the game, Let alone the game breaking bugs that eould literally have you restart the game. The story is so weak, badly written and the whole post apocalyptic setting feels extremely boring and unneeded, just because the last of us did it dont mean you have to as well. I replayed DL1 over 4 times over how much i loved it. But this here feels like a chore to finish only once. I honestly hope they fix it but i don't think its fixable and i sure hope DL2 doesn't kill the Dying Light IP because i wanna see Techland do better

While fighting enemies the game randomly lags while doing parkour attacks. Enemies are sometimes grey skinned mannequin looking things. Enemies will freeze in place for several seconds after you hit them then re appear and get a free hit on you, story dialogue is often muted. Sometimes I'll do several parkour jumps, rolls, falls etc.. with no sfx at all. Then roughly 20 seconds later I'll hear all the sounds that were supposed to play earlier while my character is just standing there. I'm currently on the final story mission and its skipping entire cutscenes.. Techland should be embarrassed

Dying Light 2 Stay Human could very likely become the stellar zombie survival adventure it should someday be, provided the bugs are finally wiped out. Its excellent parkour is an amazing way to explore this giant open world of the last tough city, and the post-apocalyptic stories of its many strange and distinctive characters are a must-see. Our bet? If its developers bring us a DLC with a really interesting story (or that solves this ending that we can't swallow), then we'll have the perfect zombie game.

Despite all my complaints, I initially had fun with Dying Light 2. The first quarter of the game was engaging. I think if the rest of the game played like this, I would have way more positive things to say, but the fact is that it’s just not done. This is clearly an unfinished game mired in mismanagement. I don’t blame the developers at all; the leaders and executives behind this work are responsible. What works here is clean and well done, albeit with some boring AAA niceties. After the first quarter or so, though, the game absolutely falls apart in almost every respect. I’m sad for what was produced here, but if I’m being honest, I’m more sad that I invested nearly thirty hours of my own time into this. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Dying Light 2 is a delightfully fast paced game, which has a few persistent issues bogging it down. Most issues have already started getting fixed, such as the audio bugs and auto save issues, but enemies being frozen in place and some quests having NPCs make odd choices still drags it down a bit. Still, even on the older console the game runs pretty great and load times are surprisingly not noticeable. The main story ramps up well with characters that matter and moments that vary from harrowing escapes to fun fights. Every moment of parkour is a treat, and combat does just well enough to stay out of the way, with a day/night cycle that varies, meaning there’s always something new to do. Here’s hoping those issues continue to get ironed out and leave the game to be what it’s best at, a harrowing fast-paced survival RPG with plenty to explore and loot.

This is a fairly fun first person parkour open world game. The story wasn’t very gripping though and the combat felt pretty one dimensional.

Developer Techland accumulates all they’ve learned from their action-horror catalog, delivering solidly fun zombie-slaying in this sequel. Its long-winded story may miss the mark in keeping you captivated, but the fun to be had more than makes up for that. And the PS4 version is a great option to play, running at very stable performances and maintaining very acceptable visual fidelity.

Dying Light 2 exchanges simplicity for scale but it is still a decent sequel. The parkour movement and combat are both excellent, but the poor story, simplified night gameplay, and broken co-op mean this is not the best zombie game from Techland.

About halfway through the game now. Overall very satisfied. Gameplay & Sound design (when it doesn't bug out) are exceptional. Parkour & combat are excellent. Movement is fluid and melee combat hits hard. Haven't had many instances (if any at all) of falling due to the game not registering a grab/control input.Voice acting is great for the adults. The children voices are odd. They are WAY too "kid-like" and it's kind of distracting, but it's minimal.The only issues so far have been co-op not working all the time but they just put a patch through to fix that. Sometimes the audio will bug out and either go silent or will just play a static buzz sound which you have to quit the game and restart. Minor inconvenience.Missions are fun. Side quests are bountiful. The game rewards you for exploring. Will probably start feeling a little redundant if playing solo though. Only gripe with the game so far is night-time doesn't feel quite as dangerous as I haven't come across any volatiles. They have howlers that if they see you will start a chase sequence.. but they're relatively easy to avoid.Overall, i'm addicted. Very fun game

While in PS5 I have encountered relatively few bugs (none game breaking) I missed the tense and claustrofobic feel of DL1. I am a huge fan of survival horror jaunra, and DL2 bright, unreal setting didn't really sit well with me. But after being nearly half of the story into, I do have to say that new mechanics and the world eventually wore me down. Further into game the original zombie horror vibes are being brought back (VNC tower mission my favourite so far!) and the games mechanics like parkour and combat are feeling great again just like they used to DL1 Music is a small masterpiece on its own.By that I wish to say : if You did not like the game in the first few hours - I get it, it takes some time getting used to - but when it sticks the landing, it sticks hard. I myself have been mostly frustrated for the first few hours (despite being a huge DL1 fan) now I am writing this review at 5.30 in the morning because I got so invested in the story and parkouring around the city. Eeven despite it obvious flaws (however surprisingly the story and characters are quite entertaining and believable in my opinion so far :) )I would have given game an 8 but I give it one extra point to balance out a bit the review bombing concerning certain language. This campaign to review bomb this game because of the lack of an Italian language option is simply childish and unnecessary. To be clear the game right now is about a 7 out of 10 but these "bombers" are making all gamers look petty.

Gamer is more than plentiful these days with all types of genres ranging from first-person shooters, MMO’s, and every game/movie adaption you can shake a stick at. It is nice to see a Gem among them shine so brightly. This title features a bit of everything I have come to admire about other games and rolled into a creepy yet satisfying game. Dying Light 2 Staying Human has earned the title of the favorite game of 2022 at this time.

Has a lot of potential to be great looking game but they NEED to make it atleast 1800p60. The game looks like a xbox one game from 7 years ago. Immersion is completely gone on series x in both modes. A shame.

It's been a long time coming, but finally the Dying Light sequel is here. The parkour is refined, the combat is great and the city is lively enough to keep you entertained for a long time. There is also plenty to do in the game, but at the same time it is mainly more of the same without really big innovative steps forward. The first few hours are also disappointing and the visual modes do not offer a best of both worlds standard. A fine sequel, but perhaps a victim of too high expectations.

My final thoughts on my overall experience with Dying Light 2: Stay Human remains positive. Seeing some coverage come out and be turned off by the bugs and issues that were pre-release was expected, but disappointing since I had faith that Techland would stay true to the fans and make sure the experience is covered top to bottom with prime support for the players and community. I commend the entire development team including Lead Designer Tymon Smektala for being engaged with the community leading to the release and listening to what they all have to say. It shows in the final release and look forward to spending even more hours in Villedor for years to come.

Dying Light 2 is a pretty disappointing sequel to one of our all-time favourite zombie games. The parkour and combat here feels slightly off-point, light, floaty and unsatisfying. The first game's signature tense melee encounters feel diluted in a setting that gives you far too much space to catch your breath and night-time sorties lack the straight-up fear factor that made them so appealing first time around. With a lacklustre campaign that offers little to enjoy in the way of drama, some serious performance issues - which we hope will be patched day one - and an enormous world stuffed full of basic busywork padding, this is one zombie apocalypse we're finding quite hard to recommend.

Let's get one thing straight: I do enjoy playing Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The story is great and warrants additional playthroughs thanks to multiple endings, the combat feels awesome, and there's a ton of stuff to do in this sprawling city (500 hours worth, apparently). It just needs to clean up the technical issues and stop spawning the final boss inside the platform he's standing on, among other things. If that happens, the impact--much like the game itself--will be night and day.

Dying Light 2 might not be the ultimate high-rider that early impressions promised. But more important than that, Techland delivers a sequel that's far better in mostly any aspect. It's technically strong on next-gen, provides a great fluid free running system, a powerful combat system, and combines it with a highly varied and vast open world. Even the story with all its world-changing decisions outperforms the predecessor clearly.

Supported by a stellar level design and an incredibly receptive story to the player's choices, Dying Light 2 is a very valid action open world RPG, which demonstrates how messy can be the development of beautiful games.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human isn't a revolution as the first game, but it is a solid entry with hours and hours of content, although probably not as long as 500 hours. It has everything it needs to become a game that fans are going to love.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is a more than worthy follow up and worth the wait. Whilst not necessarily reinventing the wheel, it excels in being one of the best versions of the open-world formula we've known for some time. With silky-smooth parkour and combat mechanics, and plenty of things to see and do, I highly recommend the plunge into The City. Where there's slight polishing to still be done and the story at times leaves a bit to be desired, shining moments and performances make it all the more worthwhile, standing as a stronger entry than its predecessor. This has become my favourite free roam zombie game to date and has me constantly itching to jump back in and tool around some more in its playground. Not bloody bad, Techland.

I can quite easily see myself spends hours hunting down resources, exploring the game during the night and just finding everything that Dying Light 2 has to offer Not to mention that the story has layers upon layers, so you really do see and feel the consequences of your choices and actions. The game is so unique because of having such an expansive and multi layered zombie survival expereince. If Dying Light got Techland noticed, Dying Light 2 puts them squarely on the map as a big-time developer! If the game can live up to what I have experienced so far then we have a new benchmark for ambitious open world RPG-like Zombie Games.

As with the original game, Dying Light 2 Stay Human will find its share of audience, while the teams at Techland will continue to expand their vision. The solid base is already there, and it would be interesting to see how the game will turn out in 5 years time.

With a significantly improved movement system, an engrossing, branching narrative, and an open world that's consistently engaging, Dying Light 2 was well worth the extended wait.
