Battle Academy ist ein actiongeladenes taktisches Strategiespiel, in dem Sie das Kommando über eine ausgewählte Gruppe von Einheiten übernehmen und sie durch Schlachten an den vielen verschiedenen Fronten des Zweiten Weltkriegs führen müssen. Als Kommandant müssen Sie reale Taktiken mit kombinierten Waffen anwenden, um den Sieg zu sichern. Das bedeutet, dass Sie Hinterhalte legen müssen, um die gegnerischen Streitkräfte zu überraschen, sie durch Unterdrückungsfeuer in die Enge treiben, feindliche Panzer flankieren, um maximale Wirkung zu erzielen, und, falls nötig, den Feind angreifen, um starke Punkte zu räumen. In einigen Fällen haben Sie auch Zugang zu mächtiger Artillerie und Luftunterstützung außerhalb der Karte, die die gegnerische Verteidigung schwächen oder sogar einen feindlichen Angriff auf der Stelle stoppen kann. Gleichzeitig müssen Sie genau auf die Moral Ihrer eigenen Truppen achten und Aufklärungseinheiten einsetzen, um feindliche Hinterhalte oder Flankenangriffe aufzuspüren.

Overall, it just feels too casual, too cartoony. On a tablet that can be forgiven, but as a PC game it seems more than a little limiting.

I also liked the comic book storytelling in between missions.

At last a game that teaches you strategy while steadily amping up the difficulty level. The graphics are surprisingly detailed yet fun at the same time. There is a huge variety of missions especially if you get the complete pack. There is enough complexity to also keep more experienced wargamers interested. I was really surprised at how good this game is. My only negative would be the rather steep price especially for the complete game, given the fact that for all intents and purposes it is a souped up Ipad port. However it is done really well and if you are willing to shell out you won't be disappointed and are in for hours of replayable fun!
