A long road to Switch
Big Robot first announced that Sir, You Are Being Hunted: Reinvented Edition would be coming to Nintendo Switch back in October 2021. At the time, the game was targeting a release on the Nintendo eShop in Q1 2022. That window slipped repeatedly, and the Reinvented Edition was never released and no development updates came from the team in the intervening years.
The version that ultimately shipped is now out alongside new console platforms. Publisher Ocean Media teamed up with Big Robot to bring the cult classic to consoles for the very first time, alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
The PC original has history worth noting. Funded on Kickstarter in 2012, initially released as one of the first games on Steam’s Early Access in 2013, and then updated with multiplayer in 2014, Sir, You Are Being Hunted went on to sell over half a million copies.
What the game is
Sir, You Are Being Hunted is a procedurally-generated British horror in which tweed-wearing robots hunt you for sport, stranding players on a mysterious archipelago of bleak villages, rocky highlands, decrepit farms, and fog-drenched fenland.
With only scavenged supplies, a few patches of cover, and advice from the disembodied butler Walters, survival becomes a tense game of hiding, looting, and outwitting an ever-relentless robotic aristocracy.

The console edition ships with several key features:
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Biomes | 5 – rural, castle, industrial, mountainous, fenland |
| Islands | Procedurally generated – no two hunts identical |
| AI hunters | Escalate in aggression the longer you survive |
| Stealth | Foliage-based cover, scavenging, hedgerow hiding |
| Platform extras | Full controller support, achievements and trophies |
The PC version currently holds a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with 79% of over 2,200 user reviews being positive.
